Douglas Sean O’Donnell is the Senior VP of Bible Editorial at Crossway Books. He has authored over a dozen books, including commentaries on the Gospel of Matthew, the Song of Songs, Job, Ecclesiastes, and 1-3 John. He earned his PhD from the University of Aberdeen.

Leland Ryken served as professor of English at Wheaton College for nearly fifty years. He served as literary stylist for the English Standard Version Bible and has authored or edited over sixty books, including The Word of God in English and A Complete Handbook of Literary Forms in the Bible.

Wholesome, faithful preaching builds healthy churches. This is a good book  (and very readable) to refer to for practical guide on expository preaching by David Helm.

Pastor John highlights that as God has spoken through the Bible, the glorious things said in the Book and their meaning need to be explained faithfully with God is exulted as part of worship.

Pastor John maintains that preaching is not merely concerned with explaining the text but a means of awakening worship by being worship in and of itself.
